Kreupel..** Crochet Cripple

Afgelopen dinsdag heeft de chirurg de (complexe) breuk in mijn pink vastgezet met een schroef en pink. Hoewel ik voor de operatie gewoon kon haken...kan het nu niet... Zeker tot en met vrijdag had ik gewoon te veel pijn om mijn andere vingers te bewegen. Nu gaat het iets beter maar haken en schrijven gaat nog niet. Hopelijk gaat het snel beter want ik loop 7 dagen achter met de Happy Squares en ik popel om weer te beginnen!

Last tuesday the surgeon fixed the complex fracture in my little finger with a screw and a pin. Although I could crochet before the surgery, now I cannot.. The pain was too much to move other fingers up to friday but even now ithe pain is better it doesn't feel comfortable to crochet or write. 

Hopeflly the finger will heal soon because I'm running 7 days behind with the Happy Squares! I can't wait to get started again.

Boter, kaas en eieren ** Tic, tac, toe

De kids vroegen laatst of ik niet een keer een schaakspel voor ze kon haken... Euh..dat leek me nogal veel werk. Laat ik eerst die Ripple maar eens afkrijgen! Maar ik wilde wel iets voor ze maken, dus haakte ik en boter,kaas en eieren spel voor ze! Zondag is een mooie dag daarvoor!

The kids asked me to make a crocheted chess-set... hm,, it seemed to me that would be a lot of work! Let me finish the RIpple first! But ofcourse I wanted to make a crocheted game for them so I made a Tic, Tac Toe game for them! Sunday is the right day to sit down and crochet such a thing!

Ja, je hebt het goed gezien! Ik mis nog 1 hartje en 2 cirkels. Het licht werd te slecht voor foto's dus deze staan niet op de foto, maar het spel is nu compleet en wordt al fanatiek gebruikt!

I know, I miss 1 heart and 2 circles, but the light was getting worse so I finished those after the light got bad. So it's complete and in use as we speak! 

Ik maakte 2 touwtjes zodat het spel opgerold en meegenomen kan worden! Mijn lieftallige assistente demonstreert dat op de foto's hieronder.

I made 2 strings so the game would be easy to take it with you in the train or bus, as my loely assistent demonstrates on the pictures below.

We hebben veel plezier gehad tijdens het maken van de foto's!

13 squares!

Hoi! Mooi hé? 14 vierkantjes? Het begint echt al ergens op te lijken als je ze naast elkaar legt!

De afgelopen dagen heb ik tussen de bedrijven door gehaakt. Zo trots op mezelf dat ik ze toch allemaal af heb gekregen! Twee weken geleden stootte ik mijn pink aan mijn rechterhand en hoewel ik dacht dat het wel meeviel bleek het een complexe breuk te zijn, afgelopen week toch maar mee naar de huisarts gegaan. Die stuurde me door en komende dinsdag word ik geopereerd. Vandaar dat ik wat minder heb geblogd en de komende week zal het nog wel even wat stiller zijnvan mijn kant. Maar we haken gewoon door! (wat wel luktals ik wat vaker rust)

Between all kinds of busy responsibilities I have been able to finish all the squares and I'm still on schedule! So proud of myself! Two weeks ago I broke the pinkyfinger of my right hand. I thought it was just sprained but it turned out to be a complex fracture. I went to the GP's office on tuesday and he sent me to the hospital. Next tuesday they will try to fix my finger with surgery. That's the reason I haven't been writing here and the next week I won't have much time either. But I'll keep crocheting (which is possible, but I need t stop and rest my hand more than usual.)
